Full Professorship (W3) Vacancy at the School of Social Sciences of the University of Mannheim


The Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences (CDSS) at the University of Mannheim has an immediate vacancy to cover the position of a Full Professor for Quantitative Methods in Social and Behavioral Sciences (W3).

The position is initially advertised until 31 January 2018 with the possibility of extension.

The CDSS is part of Mannheim’s Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS), funded be the ‘Excellence Initiative’ of the German federal and state governments. The CDSS encompasses PhD programs in Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

The CDSS wishes to appoint a scientist holding a PhD in political science, psychology or sociology with a proven track record in empirical and quantitative methods. The successful candidate must possess a record of recent relevant publications as well as academic teaching experience in the subject matter.

The post entails teaching obligations of three courses per semester within the framework of the Graduate School. The post holder will also be expected to co-supervise and mentor CDSS doctoral candidates. The working and teaching language at the CDSS is English.
