Walter Isard Award for Best Dissertation in Peace Science awarded to CDSS Alumna Dr. Anita Gohdes

CDSS Alumna Dr. Anita Gohdes receives the renowned Walter Isard Award for the Best Dissertation in Peace Science  for her work 'Repression in the Digital Age: Communication Technology and the Politics of State Violence'. In her dissertation, she develops a framework to analyze how government's control of the internet affects the state-sanctioned violence. She completed her thesis under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sabine Carey.

This is Anita Gohdes' second best dissertation award having been honored with the prestigious 'Deutscher Studienpreis' in 2015
