Markus Welle studied Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, majoring in Marketing and Innovation Management. In his master thesis he explored "Knowledge Integration Across Firms' External Boundaries in New Product Development", finding antecedents and consequences of knowledge integration from inter-organizational collaboration. During his studies he spent one semester abroad at Linköping University, Sweden and one at Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary. He gained practical experiences in the fields of Business Development, Consulting and Strategic Marketing, working for several multinational companies. At the University of Mannheim Markus Welle worked as a student teaching assistant at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation of Prof. Dr. Kuester.
Since 2014 he is enrolled as PhD student in the Marketing track of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences's (GESS) doctoral program at the University of Mannheim. Since February 2015 he is doctoral student at the Chair of Marketing & Innovation of Prof. Dr. Kuester. His research focuses on new product development with particular interest in innovation and technology scouting.
