Albrecht Bohne was born in Berlin in 1988 and grew up in Ratingen, Germany. After high school, he worked for one year in a small clinic for street children in Ecuador, having previously undergone paramedic training in Germany. He received a Bachelor in economics from LMU Munich and during his studies worked as a tutor for microeconomics and as student research assistant at the Chair of International Economics. In his Bachelor thesis, he analyzed the destination choice of Colombian migrants. Albrecht completed his MSc in economics (distinction) at the London School of Economics, where he wrote his thesis on overmedication in developing countries. His research interests include development economics, health economics, and economics of migration, all with a focus towards applied econometrics. In his spare time, Albrecht supports street children in Ecuador through ViaNiños e.V. and enjoys travelling, rock climbing and reading.
