Alina was born in 1991 in Lüdenscheid, Germany. She completed a dual-subject bachelor’s program in economics and communication science at the University of Münster. During this time, she worked as a student assistant at the renewable energy institute IWR. Afterwards, she spent a gap year doing internships in Frankfurt, Brussels and Shanghai before coming back to Germany to take up her master studies in Mannheim. Beside the master’s program, she worked as a student assistant in the labor markets department of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). Her main research interests are in the area of macroeconomics, especially time series and business cycle models. When she’s not studying, she likes to do sports, to experiment in the kitchen and host cooking evenings and to read good books of various kinds.
