Majed was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1989. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim in 2012. During his studies he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Econometrics and the Centre for European Economic Research. Majed then joined the doctoral program at the CDSE through the Masters track. He spent the second year of the program at UC Berkeley and the fourth year at Yale University. His research interests include microeconometrics, in particular topics related to policy evaluation, as well as the economics of education and labor markets. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer and traveling.
