Michaela was born in 1990 in Bonn-Duisdorf, Germany. She studied Economics at the University of Maastricht (BSc) and the University of Mannheim (MSc). Before joining the PhD program at the CDSE in 2016, Michaela was a trainee in the Macro-Financial Policies Division at the ECB. Her research interests lie in the area of Applied Microeconomics with a particular focus on Economics of Education, Health Economics, and Labor Economics as well as the study of inequality and intergenerational mobility.
