Nils was born in 1993 in Bielefeld (Germany). He received his bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Mannheim in 2015. In his thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Peichl, he conducted an empirical analysis on the distributional and macroeconomic effects of fiscal consolidation in Europe following the Great Recession. He obtained first research experience through his work as a research assistant at both the chair of Economics, Public Finance and Economic Policy of Prof. Dr. Janeba and the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). His research interests include labor markets, public finance and inequality.
