Sebastian Camarero Garcia
Sebastian Camarero Garcia was born in Stuttgart (Germany) into a German-Spanish family. Following school, he worked for one year at the community foundation Stuttgart (Bürgerstiftung Stuttgart) as substitute for military service from 2008 to 2009. Then he obtained his bachelor degree in economics at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 2012. The following year, he gained professional experience working on projects in the field of banking supervision and financial market regulation by completing internships at the Deutsche Bundesbank and at Deutsche Bank (DB Research). After earning the MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), he joined the CDSE in fall 2014. His studies were supported by the Cusanuswerk and the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes). In general, Sebastian is interested in labour market economics, economics of education and public economics (e.g. the topic of wealth and income inequality/taxation and the future of social security systems). Moreover, he is also interested in banking and financial market regulation, the mechanisms of sovereign debt crisis, in particular with a focus on the situation in Europe.
