Tim was born in 1991 and grew up in Bad Oeynhausen, Germany. He studied economics with a minor in mathematics at the universities of Mannheim and Toulouse before starting his graduate studies in economics at the CDSE in 2013. He spent the second year of the program at the University of California, Berkeley. During his studies, Tim worked as an intern at the German central bank and ifo institute and as a teaching assistant. His studies were supported by the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes). In his Master's thesis, he analyzed the effects of tax and transfer policies on the career paths of mothers. In his free time, he enjoys playing badminton, cooking and traveling.
