Marcela Ibáñez is a doctoral candidate at the Chair of Empirical Democracy Research and a member of the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences - GESS - at the University of Mannheim. Her research focuses on political methodology, experimental design, survey design, party politics, and comparative security policy in post-conflict scenarios.

Marcela holds a master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim and a master’s degree in Security Studies from the Charles University in Prague. She has previously worked as a teaching fellow at the Chair of Political Economy and as a research fellow at the Mannheimer Zentrum für Europäische Sozialforschung (MZES).
